Sliced Bread

Is it just me, or does it seem odd that sliced bread is still the invention by which all other inventions are measured by? It was invented in 1928 by this guy. That was over 80 years ago. You would think Bill Gates or the guy who invented Bagel Bites® would have something to say about this.

When Al Gore invented the internet, did anyone tell him it paled in comparison to what Wonderbread® achieves on a daily basis? I doubt it. Let’s get with the times, people. From here on out, I will no longer use the phrase, “the greatest thing since sliced bread.” Instead, I will say, “the greatest thing since the iPod™,” or, “the Robo-Penguin.

    Although if that did happen to Al Gore, that may explain a few things. I’m game for popularizing the robo-penguin thing, but I may be biased.
